What exactly is a Bill Payment Service? 
CheckFree BillPay allows you to schedule your current, future and recurring bills from your Pine Island Bank BillPay account. We are unable to process any international or federal payments to federal, state, or local tax agencies.  
How do I sign up for BillPay?  
  • Enroll for CheckFree Bill Payment Services through Pine Island Bank’s Online Banking.  
  • Go to the checking account you wish to utilize for your bill payments and click on the “Payment” tab at the top.  
  • Follow the prompts to enroll and begin setting up the vendors you wish to pay.  
  • You can also schedule calendar reminders to receive e-mails as reminders to pay certain bills.  
  • For security purposes, you will receive an e-mail anytime you make a change in your bill payment services.

    When should I set up my payments to make sure they are paid on time? 
    Funds will be remitted to the biller on your behalf from the funds in your BillPay account (the checking account you select to be debited) on the scheduled payment date. CheckFree will not be obligated to make a payment unless your BillPay account and/or linked overdraft protection account has sufficient funds or credit available to pay the bill on the scheduled payment date. CheckFree will not be responsible for any late fees you incur.  NSF and overdraft fees will be assessed. 
    How will I know when payments have been sent? 
    Through Pine Island Bank Online Banking, you will be able to view your checking account activity and see your bill payments as they are deducted from your account.  They will appear with a brief description and/or the check number, along with the dollar amount of your transaction, so you will know the payment has been made. 
    What about the payment stubs included with some bills to be returned with payment? 
    Payment stubs are not necessary.  Include your account number with the billers phone number on the BillPay screen.  
    Sounds great, but how much does this service cost? 
    There is no charge for BillPay services! 
    How can I stop my BillPay services? 
    If you want to stop using BillPay, you must notify us at 507-356-6666. If you want to switch your current BillPay account, you must update this information online.  
    How do I stop or change a BillPay request? 
    You may cancel or edit any scheduled payment (including recurring payments) by following directions online.  Once the service has begun processing a payment it cant be canceled or edited.  Therefore a stop payment request must be submitted to Check Free Customer Service at 888-243-2502. 
    What is Popmoney®? 
    The Popmoney® personal payment service through Online BillPay that lets you send money to friends, family or anyone at all.All you need is their name and email address or mobile number to move money from your bank account to theirs. 
    How Can I Use Popmoney®? 
    People are using Popmoney® to pay for all sorts of things like shared phone bills or just paying back a friend for lunch.  You can even use it to request money.

    How do I get started using Online Banking? 
  • Click Enroll Now in the Online Banking starburst at the top of this website.  Follow the prompts.  
  • Within a few business days you will receive your temporary Access ID and password in two separate mailings (for security purposes).  
  • Once you have these two items, return to Pine Island Bank’s website and enter your Access ID in the Online Banking starbust.
